Story
Hello!
On April 10, 2010, I finally finished the Marathon des Sables - a 6 stage, 250 km, self-sufficient run across some of the most remote sections of the Moroccan Sahara.
During the race, daytime temperatures peaked at 50 degrees. I carried all my equipment, including survival gear, food, a sleeping bag, and daily water rations.
The longest stage of the race was an 82km night run across sand dunes, dried-up river beds, and rocky sahara mountains.
In addition to the personal challenge, I competed to raise awareness of the next International Whaling Commission meeting in Agadir, Morocco. At this meeting members will attempt to build a future for whales. To help the cause, I am raising money for Greenpeace who are committed anti-whaling campaigners, exposing the problem, and helping to develop solutions.
Greenpeace and I would welcome any and all donations in support of Greenpeace's work.
